Life Strike

Melee healing mod

Released Apr 9, 2014

Life Strike adds life steal to melee Heavy Attacks. Consider it when you want Heavy Attack hits to restore health and can spare a melee mod slot for that recovery effect.

Life Strike GUIDE

Understand Life Strike

Useful when…

  • Add a health recovery option to a melee setup that uses Heavy Attacks.

What it does

The bonus applies to Heavy Attacks: rank 0 grants 5% life steal, rank 2 grants 15%, and rank 3 grants 20%. It is not listed as a benefit for ordinary melee attacks.

Slot and investment

This Rare standard melee mod has Vazarin polarity, a base drain of 4, and a maximum rank of 3. The final rank raises the bonus from 15% to 20%; the listed rank 2→3 fusion step costs 120 Endo and 5,796 Credits. Whether that increment is worth the cost depends on how often you use Heavy Attacks and need the healing.

Alternatives and limits

Amalgam Organ Shatter instead provides critical damage and Heavy Attack wind-up speed; it does not list life steal. Dispatch Overdrive grants movement speed after a Heavy Attack hit and occupies an Exilus slot. These address different needs, so neither is a direct healing substitute. The available details also list several enemy drops and mission rewards, including Survival Rotation C rewards, but do not guarantee a particular acquisition outcome.

Limitations and tradeoffs

  • Uses a standard melee slot for a benefit tied to Heavy Attacks.
  • Rank 3 costs more to fuse than the earlier ranks.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Expecting ordinary melee attacks to trigger the listed life-steal effect.
  • Treating movement speed or Heavy Attack wind-up bonuses as equivalent to health recovery.
