Understand Mach Crash
Useful when…
- Pull enemies together as Mach Rush's impact shockwave passes through them.
- Use it when the pull's reach matters; the listed radius increases with mod rank.
What the augment does
The impact shockwave from Mach Rush leaves behind a vacuum that sucks in enemies. Its radius is 5 m at rank 0, 7 m at rank 2, and 8 m at rank 3.
Equipment and installation
This is a Rare, standard Gauss mod with Zenurik polarity, a maximum rank of 3, and base drain 6. It is compatible with Gauss.
Rank investment
Rank it when the larger pull radius is useful: the listed radius grows from 5 m at rank 0 to 8 m at rank 3. Fusion costs rise across the steps: rank 0 to 1 costs 30 Endo and 1,449 Credits; 1 to 2 costs 60 Endo and 2,898 Credits; 2 to 3 costs 120 Endo and 5,796 Credits. Staying at a lower rank trades reach for lower fusion spending.
Compare by ability
Thermal Transfer is another Rare Gauss augment, but it modifies Thermal Sunder: allies in range gain 75% bonus Elemental Damage for 30 seconds. It serves a different purpose, so consider it when that ally buff is the desired effect rather than Mach Rush's enemy pull.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The pull radius depends on rank, so higher reach requires more fusion investment.
- Its described effect is tied to Mach Rush's impact shockwave; it does not describe a general-purpose pull.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Expecting the vacuum to affect enemies outside the listed radius.
- Treating the augment as an ally damage buff; that is the stated effect of Thermal Transfer, not Mach Crash.
