Understand Magnum Force
Useful when…
- Adding listed damage to a compatible pistol when reduced accuracy is acceptable.
- Using a Madurai-polarity standard pistol slot.
Benefit and drawback
At maximum rank, Magnum Force gives +165% Damage and -55% Accuracy. At rank 0, it gives +15% Damage and -5% Accuracy; rank 5 gives +90% Damage and -30% Accuracy. The damage figure is a mod bonus, not a computed final damage result. The accuracy penalty grows alongside it.
Rank and capacity tradeoff
This Rare, standard pistol mod has Madurai polarity, base drain 4, and maximum rank 10. The supplied fusion examples are 30 Endo and 1,449 Credits from rank 0 to 1, 960 Endo and 46,368 Credits from rank 5 to 6, and 15,360 Endo and 741,888 Credits from rank 9 to 10. The late ranks carry a steep cost and increase the accuracy penalty as well as damage, so choose a rank that suits both your budget and handling needs.
Do not confuse Conclave handling mods
Blind Shot is a Conclave variant that adds +40% Projectile Speed and -4% Accuracy. Reflex Draw is a Conclave Exilus mod that, on equip, reduces recoil by 40% and adds 40% Accuracy for 8 seconds. Strafing Slide is also Conclave and provides reduced recoil and increased accuracy while sliding. These have different variants and effects; they do not reproduce Magnum Force’s damage bonus.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- More damage comes with progressively lower accuracy, so the mod may be harder to use on weapons where precise hits matter.
- High-rank fusion costs rise sharply; rank 10 also imposes the full listed accuracy penalty.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Do not evaluate Magnum Force’s damage increase without accounting for the accuracy penalty at the same rank.
- Do not mistake Conclave handling mods for direct alternatives that provide Magnum Force’s damage bonus.
