Understand Melee Elementalist
Useful when…
- Supporting melee weapons that benefit from increased Status Damage and faster heavy attack wind-up.
Effects and compatibility
At rank 0, the mod provides +15% Status Damage and +10% Heavy Attack Wind Up Speed. At rank 5 it provides +90% Status Damage and +60% wind-up speed. It is a standard Vazarin-polarity Melee mod and explicitly cannot be equipped with Galvanized Elementalist.
What the bonus does not say
Status Damage and Status Chance are different stats: Melee Elementalist lists damage and heavy-attack wind-up speed, not a chance to inflict statuses. Melee Prowess instead adds Status Chance. Amalgam Organ Shatter also increases heavy wind-up speed, but pairs it with Critical Damage; Auger Strike adds Puncture. Those candidates address different weapon properties.
Rank and slot cost
Melee Elementalist has base drain 4 and maximum rank 5. Listed costs rise from 20 Endo/966 Credits for rank 0 to 1, through 80/3,864 for rank 2 to 3, to 320/15,456 for rank 4 to 5. Partial ranking supplies smaller bonuses if capacity or fusion resources favor gradual investment.
Acquisition
The supplied source entry lists Juno Sapper Moa.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- It occupies a standard melee slot and cannot be equipped with Galvanized Elementalist.
- Its bonuses do not include Status Chance.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Confusing Status Damage with Status Chance.
- Trying to equip it alongside Galvanized Elementalist.
- Treating a damage bonus as a final weapon damage result.
