Momentary Pause GUIDE

Understand Momentary Pause

Useful when…

  • Consider it in Conclave when shotgun kills are frequent and healing over time is useful.

What it does

On a kill, the mod grants +15 Heal Rate for 10 seconds at max rank. It also reduces benefits from Health Orbs by 25%. The trigger depends on getting a kill, so it does not provide this healing continuously.

Use and fit

It is a standard shotgun mod with Vazarin polarity, base drain 10, and a maximum rank of 3. Its Conclave variant and kill trigger make it a specialized choice for that mode; the listed compatibility is Shotgun.

Rank investment and tradeoff

At rank 0 it grants +3.8 Heal Rate for 3 seconds and reduces Health Orb benefits by 6.2%; at rank 2 those values are +11.3 for 8 seconds and −18.7%. Max rank raises the healing and duration, but also reaches the full 25% orb penalty. Rank it when the stronger, longer kill-triggered effect is worth the Endo, Credits, and slot capacity to your setup.

When another effect fits better

Prize Kill also triggers on a kill and carries the same 25% Health Orb penalty, but it instead removes Shield Recharge Delay for 10 seconds. Accelerated Blast and Amalgam Shotgun Barrage offer fire-rate bonuses, with different additional effects; they do not supply this mod’s kill-triggered healing.

Limitations and tradeoffs

  • Healing requires a kill and lasts only 10 seconds at max rank.
  • Health Orb benefits are reduced by 25% at max rank.
  • The Conclave variant and shotgun requirement limit where it applies.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Assuming it heals without a kill or after its 10-second effect ends.
  • Ignoring the reduction to Health Orb benefits when evaluating its sustain.
