Understand Momentous Bond
Useful when…
- Use it in combat where you can kill Eximus enemies often enough to activate the temporary Companion bonus.
- Consider it when reducing Companion Recovery Time is useful alongside extra Companion damage.
Effect and trigger
At max rank, killing an Eximus enemy grants your Companion a 120% bonus of a random Elemental Damage for 30 seconds and reduces Companion Recovery Time by 18 seconds. The trigger is specifically an Eximus kill; ordinary kills do not activate the listed effect.
Companion fit
This is a standard Companion mod with Madurai polarity, base drain 4, and maximum rank 5. Its temporary damage bonus is elemental and randomly selected, so it is not a way to choose a particular element. Its recovery reduction is a second benefit of the same Eximus-kill trigger.
Rank priorities
Rank 0 gives a 20% random Elemental Damage bonus for 30 seconds and reduces Recovery Time by 3 seconds; rank 3 raises these to 80% and 12 seconds. Max rank reaches 120% and 18 seconds. The rank track runs to 5, so weigh the improved bonus and recovery reduction against increasing fusion costs and mod capacity.
How its trigger differs from other Bond mods
Aerial Bond uses airborne kills to reduce Companion Recovery Time and create a cold field while the Warframe is airborne. Astral Bond is activated by Operator or Drifter damage and grants Companion damage and Void Damage. Contagious Bond instead spreads some of a status effect when the Companion kills an afflicted enemy. These conditions and effects differ from Momentous Bond’s Eximus-kill trigger.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The damage bonus lasts 30 seconds and requires an Eximus kill to activate.
- The elemental damage type is random.
- The strongest effect requires max rank investment.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Treating ordinary enemy kills as a trigger.
- Assuming the random Elemental Damage type can be selected.
- Overlooking that the recovery reduction also depends on killing an Eximus enemy.
