Understand Narrow Barrel
Useful when…
- Consider it for a shotgun setup that benefits from more accuracy while aiming and can trigger the bonus with hits.
- Compare it with other conditional shotgun mods only when their distinct triggers and effects suit your play pattern.
What triggers the accuracy bonus?
On hit, Narrow Barrel grants accuracy while aiming. At rank 0 the effect is +5% for 2 seconds; rank 3 provides +20% for 6 seconds; rank 5 provides +30% for 9 seconds. The stated effect is conditional on hitting and aiming, rather than a permanent accuracy bonus.
Where does it fit, and what are the alternatives?
It is a standard shotgun Exilus mod with Madurai polarity and base drain 2. Double-Barrel Drift is a Conclave shotgun Exilus mod that gives +20% accuracy while sliding and -20% weapon recoil, so its condition and variant differ. Laser Sight requires a weak-point hit while aiming and adds critical chance; Nano-Applicator triggers on ability cast while aiming and adds status chance. These alternatives do not reproduce Narrow Barrel's on-hit accuracy effect.
How should you rank it?
The mod has five ranks. Its effects rise from +5% accuracy for 2 seconds to +30% for 9 seconds; rank 3 is +20% for 6 seconds. The supplied rank 4-to-5 fusion example costs 480 Endo and 23,184 Credits, so weigh that cost against the extra accuracy and duration you will actually use.
What should you watch for?
The bonus requires both a hit trigger and aiming; equipping the mod alone does not provide the listed full bonus continuously. Do not confuse its standard variant with the Conclave-only Double-Barrel Drift or assume the critical-chance and status-chance alternatives share its trigger.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Consumes a shotgun Exilus slot for a hit-triggered aiming accuracy bonus.
- The bonus duration and amount improve with rank, with fusion costs increasing at higher ranks.
- Other listed shotgun mods use different triggers and grant recoil, critical-chance, or status-chance effects instead.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Treating the bonus as permanent or forgetting it requires a hit and aiming.
- Confusing the standard mod with a Conclave variant or substituting a different trigger without accounting for its changed effect.
