Understand Perfect Balance
Useful when…
- Use on a K-Drive when reducing fall interruptions is more useful than another listed K-Drive effect.
- Compare with Air Time for reduced gravity while falling, Bomb The Landin' for an aerial slam, or Cold Arrival for a dismount effect.
Effect and equipment
Perfect Balance increases the chance to resist falls: 6% at rank 0, 36% at rank 5, and 66% at rank 10. It is a standard K-Drive mod with Madurai polarity and base drain 4.
Rank investment
The rank 5-to-6 step costs 640 Endo and 30,912 Credits; the final step costs 10,240 Endo and 494,592 Credits. The maximum listed chance is 66%, so even max rank does not describe guaranteed fall resistance. Invest further when the increased chance is worth the steep late-rank cost for your K-Drive use.
Other K-Drive effects
Air Time reduces gravity while falling, which changes falling behavior rather than listing a chance to resist falls. Bomb The Landin' requires tapping and holding Grind in the air to execute a 20-meter radius slam shockwave that deals 300 damage. Cold Arrival triggers on dismount and deals 400 Cold damage to enemies within 4 meters. These are separate effects with different conditions, not direct equivalents to fall resistance.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The effect is probabilistic; its listed maximum is 66%.
- Late ranks require substantially more Endo and Credits.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Expecting fall resistance to be guaranteed at max rank; the listed chance is 66%.
- Confusing Air Time’s reduced gravity while falling with Perfect Balance’s chance to resist falls.
