Understand Persistent Posture
Useful when…
- Give a claw-equipped companion persistent target focus.
- Add Impact Damage to companion claw attacks.
Effect and conditions
This standard Claws stance makes the companion pick a target and attack it relentlessly. It also adds +10% Impact Damage at rank 0, +30% at rank 2, and +40% at rank 3. The mod has Penjaga polarity and a base drain of -2.
Choosing a posture
Assassin Posture instead prioritizes Eximus and other high-ranking enemies and adds Overguard Damage. Elusive Posture makes the companion avoid attacking and adds Evasion. Frenzied Posture prefers changing targets after each attack and increases Status Duration. These postures support different companion behavior; Persistent Posture’s defining behavior is sustained focus on its chosen target.
Ranking and practical limit
The mod reaches rank 3. Its listed fusion steps cost 10, 20, then 40 Endo, with Credits costs of 483, 966, then 1,932. Rank it when the added Impact bonus matters to your companion’s claws; the target-selection behavior is described separately from the rank-based damage bonus.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Persistent focus can be less suitable when you want the companion to switch targets frequently.
- Ranking adds Impact Damage but costs Endo and Credits.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Expecting the companion to change targets frequently while using a posture that emphasizes relentless attacks on its chosen target.
- Treating the Impact bonus as a bonus to every companion attack type rather than the listed claw mod.
