Understand Primed Fever Strike
Useful when…
- Adding Toxin to a melee weapon’s damage setup.
- Using a higher-capacity Toxin mod than Fever Strike when its rank and slot cost fit.
What it does
At rank 0 it grants +15% Toxin; at rank 5, +90%; and at rank 10, +165%. It is a standard melee mod with Naramon polarity, a base drain of 6, and a maximum rank of 10. The bonus is a listed mod effect, not a statement of the weapon’s final damage.
Rank and slot tradeoffs
Higher ranks raise the Toxin bonus but also require more investment and mod capacity. The listed fusion examples rise from 40 Endo and 1,932 Credits for rank 0 to 1, to 1,280 Endo and 61,824 Credits for rank 5 to 6, and 20,480 Endo and 989,184 Credits for rank 9 to 10. Rank it as far as the added bonus justifies those costs and the available capacity. As a standard-slot mod, it does not use an Exilus slot.
Alternatives and exclusions
Fever Strike is the standard, lower-rank counterpart, with +90% Toxin at its listed maximum rank of 5; Flawed Fever Strike reaches +60% at rank 3. These are alternatives for different investment or capacity needs, not extra copies to stack: Primed Fever Strike explicitly excludes both. Amalgam Organ Shatter instead grants critical damage and heavy-attack wind-up speed, so it serves a different purpose.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- High ranks provide more Toxin but have steep later fusion costs and use more mod capacity.
- Its standard slot competes with other melee mods; it cannot be equipped alongside Fever Strike or Flawed Fever Strike.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Treating +165% Toxin as the weapon’s final damage rather than the mod’s bonus.
- Equipping it with Fever Strike or Flawed Fever Strike despite the stated incompatibility.
- Ignoring the sharp increase in fusion costs near the final ranks.
