Understand Primed Heated Charge
Useful when…
- Adding Heat damage to a pistol build.
- Choosing the higher-rank Primed version over Heated Charge when the larger bonus justifies the investment.
Effect and compatibility
Primed Heated Charge grants +15% Heat at rank 0, +90% at rank 5, and +165% at rank 10. It is a standard pistol mod with Naramon polarity, base drain 6, and maximum rank 10. This is the listed mod bonus, not the pistol’s final damage.
Rank and capacity tradeoff
The Heat bonus rises with rank, while late fusion steps are costly: listed examples include 1,280 Endo and 61,824 Credits from rank 5 to 6, and 20,480 Endo and 989,184 Credits from rank 9 to 10. Balance the desired bonus against those costs and available capacity. It occupies a standard slot, not an Exilus slot.
Alternatives and exclusions
Heated Charge is the standard counterpart, listed at +90% Heat and maximum rank 5; Flawed Heated Charge reaches +40% at rank 3. Primed Heated Charge explicitly excludes both. Accelerated Isotope offers Radiation and Fire Rate instead, so it has a different effect and polarity rather than being a direct Heat replacement.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Higher ranks improve the Heat bonus but require substantial late-rank fusion costs and capacity.
- The standard and flawed Heated Charge versions are explicitly incompatible with Primed Heated Charge.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Reading +165% Heat as the pistol’s final damage.
- Equipping Heated Charge or Flawed Heated Charge alongside Primed Heated Charge.
- Ignoring the high cost of the final fusion ranks.
