Understand Rift Torrent
Useful when…
- Add conditional damage while enemies are affected by Rift Surge and Limbo is in the Rift.
- Use the augment in a Limbo setup centered on Rift Surge rather than Banish healing or Cataclysm duration.
Effect and conditions
At rank 0, Rift Torrent grants 15% extra damage for each enemy affected by Rift Surge while Limbo is in the Rift. Rank 2 increases this to 25% per enemy, and rank 3 to 30% per enemy. Both conditions matter: the enemy must be affected by Rift Surge, and Limbo must be in the Rift. The stated percentage is per affected enemy; no overall damage calculation is specified here.
Fit and investment
Rift Torrent is a Rare Limbo mod with Zenurik polarity, standard slot, base drain 6, and maximum rank 3. The listed rank 2 to 3 fusion step costs 120 Endo and 5,796 Credits. Higher ranks raise the per-enemy bonus, so weigh the investment against how reliably the Rift Surge and Rift conditions are present in your use of Limbo.
Other augment purposes
Cataclysmic Continuum adds one second to Cataclysm duration for each enemy killed, while Rift Haven restores health to allies banished to the Rift. They address Cataclysm duration and ally healing respectively, rather than Rift Torrent’s damage condition. Select among these augments based on the Limbo ability and effect you want to support.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The bonus depends on enemies being affected by Rift Surge while Limbo is in the Rift.
- It uses a standard mod slot and requires ranks for the maximum listed per-enemy bonus.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Applying the bonus when Limbo is not in the Rift or enemies are not affected by Rift Surge.
- Treating the percentage per enemy as an unconditional final damage value.
- Confusing this damage augment with Cataclysm duration or Banish healing.
