Understand Seeker
Useful when…
- Equip on a pistol when Punch Through is useful for engaging targets in line or through obstacles.
- Compare its larger Punch Through effect against Flawed Seeker when managing mod capacity.
Effect and fit
This Rare standard pistol mod has Naramon polarity and reaches +2.1 Punch Through at rank 5. Its rank 0 value is +0.4, with +1.4 at rank 3. It uses a standard slot and is explicitly incompatible with Flawed Seeker.
Ranking and capacity
Seeker has a maximum rank of 5 and base drain 10. Listed fusion costs rise from 30 Endo and 1,449 Credits for rank 0 to 1, to 120 Endo and 5,796 Credits for rank 2 to 3, and 480 Endo and 23,184 Credits for rank 4 to 5. The final ranks cost more, so invest when the extra Punch Through is useful and the pistol has capacity to spare. Matching its Naramon polarity can help with capacity, if the pistol has a matching slot.
Alternatives and acquisition
Flawed Seeker is the lower-drain, lower-effect alternative: it tops out at +0.6 Punch Through and cannot be equipped with Seeker. Accelerated Isotope contributes Radiation and Fire Rate instead, so it does not replace the shot-passing effect. Listed sources include several enemy drops and Normal Duviri/Endless Tier 4 and Tier 6 rewards; the listed chances are source-specific and do not guarantee a drop.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The maximum Punch Through is higher than Flawed Seeker's, at a base drain of 10.
- Ranking to the maximum requires substantially more Endo and Credits than the first rank.
- Does not directly grant listed weapon damage, and cannot coexist with Flawed Seeker.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Treating Punch Through as a direct damage percentage.
- Equipping or planning to equip both Seeker and Flawed Seeker.
- Ignoring the steep Endo and Credit cost of the last rank.
