Shadow Haze

Sevagoth augment for Reap that increases critical chance against Death Harvest targets and can create Shadows.

Released Jul 27, 2023

Shadow Haze adds critical chance against enemies inflicted with Death Harvest and can produce a Shadow when those enemies die, up to a limit of three. Consider it when your Sevagoth setup can apply Death Harvest and you want those targets to provide both a critical chance benefit and Shadow generation.

Understand Shadow Haze

Useful when…

  • Use when you can reliably inflict Death Harvest and want the augment's conditional critical chance.
  • Consider its Shadow generation when kills among Death Harvest targets are frequent enough to make the capped effect useful.

What effects does it add?

Shadow Haze is a Sevagoth augment for Reap. At rank 0, it increases critical chance by 35% against enemies inflicted with Death Harvest; at rank 3, that bonus is 50%. When an affected enemy perishes, a new Shadow emerges, up to a limit of three Shadows. The benefit depends on the Death Harvest condition, and the Shadow effect has a fixed cap.

When is it useful?

It fits a setup that can apply Death Harvest and then exploit the affected targets: the critical chance bonus applies only to those enemies, and Shadow generation also requires those enemies to perish. If either condition is uncommon in your play, much of the augment's stated value will not be active.

How should you invest in it?

The augment has a Zenurik polarity, base drain 6, and a maximum rank of 3. Fusion raises its critical chance bonus from 35% to 50%; it does not change the stated three-Shadow limit or the Death Harvest condition. Prioritize ranks if the conditional critical chance matters to your build, while weighing the Endo and Credits costs of each step against other mods competing for capacity.

How does another Sevagoth augment differ?

Dark Propagation is a Sow augment with a different trigger: enemies killed while inflicted with Sow spread its effect in a 15 m radius, and Shadow's Death Harvest also inflicts Sow. It does not share Shadow Haze's listed critical chance bonus or Shadow generation effect. Consider it only if that Sow-spreading behavior is the goal.

Limitations and tradeoffs

  • Its critical chance benefit requires enemies to be inflicted with Death Harvest.
  • Shadow creation also depends on affected enemies dying and is limited to three Shadows.
  • It uses a mod slot and has base drain 6.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Do not count the critical chance bonus against enemies that are not inflicted with Death Harvest.
  • Do not expect more than three Shadows from this augment.
