Understand Shattered Storm
Useful when…
- Use when you regularly break Mass Vitrify with Shattered Lash and want its struck enemies to receive Splinter Storm.
- Compare Gara's healing or energy augments when those effects, rather than spread application, are the goal.
What must happen for the effect?
Shattered Storm is a Gara augment for Shattered Lash. It triggers when Gara breaks her Mass Vitrify ring with Shattered Lash; enemies struck by the glass then suffer Splinter Storm. At rank 0, that application has 25% Strength, rising to 100% at rank 3. The effect therefore depends on the ring-breaking sequence and enemies being struck by the glass.
When is it a practical choice?
Consider it if your Gara play already uses Mass Vitrify and Shattered Lash together and the glass can hit targets you want affected by Splinter Storm. Mending Splinters instead heals 15 Health per second for each target affected by Splinter Storm. Spectrosiphon gives enemies dying within Spectrorage a 50% chance to drop an Energy Orb. These augments serve healing and energy needs rather than applying Splinter Storm through the ring-breaking hit.
What does ranking improve?
The augment has a Zenurik polarity, base drain 6, and maximum rank 3. Fusion raises the stated Splinter Storm Strength from 25% to 100%; the trigger remains breaking Mass Vitrify with Shattered Lash and hitting enemies with the glass. Rank it when the stronger application is useful and the fusion cost and mod capacity are justified.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Its application depends on breaking Mass Vitrify with Shattered Lash and hitting enemies with the glass.
- It occupies a mod slot and has base drain 6.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Do not attribute the effect to Shattered Lash without first breaking the Mass Vitrify ring.
- Do not assume the application affects enemies the glass does not strike.
