Understand Sly Devolution
Useful when…
- Equipping the Precept on a Sly Vulpaphyla.
- Adding a temporary enemy-accuracy reduction after kills while benefiting from the pet’s downed recovery behavior.
Downed recovery and kill effect
When downed, the Sly Vulpaphyla devolves into larval form and regains its true form after 30 seconds. Separately, your kills reduce enemy accuracy against Warframes. At rank 0 the reduction is 5% for 2 seconds; rank 2 gives 15% for 6 seconds; rank 3 gives 20% for 8 seconds.
Compatibility and investment
This is a standard Precept for Sly Vulpaphyla, with Penjaga polarity, base drain 0, and maximum rank 3. Ranking it improves the accuracy reduction and its duration; the listed fusion costs increase by rank. The 30-second return time is stated separately and remains the same at the shown ranks.
Related defensive effect
Survival Instinct is another Sly Vulpaphyla Precept, but its stated trigger is a bullet jump, briefly making enemies lose sight of you, with a 5-second cooldown. That differs from Sly Devolution’s kill-triggered accuracy reduction and companion recovery behavior.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The accuracy reduction requires your kills and lasts only for its listed duration.
- Its recovery behavior does not prevent the companion from being downed; it describes what happens afterward.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Expecting the 30-second return time to improve with rank; the listed rank changes concern the accuracy effect.
- Assuming the accuracy reduction triggers without a kill or affects targets other than enemy accuracy against Warframes.
