Understand Survival Instinct
Useful when…
- Use when you regularly Bullet Jump and want brief relief from enemy attention while moving.
- Consider it for a Sly Vulpaphyla survival setup where intermittent concealment is useful.
What triggers the effect?
A Bullet Jump triggers enemies losing sight of you. At maximum rank, the effect lasts 1.5 seconds and has a 5-second cooldown. At rank 0, it lasts 0.6 seconds with an 8-second cooldown; rank 2 gives 1.2 seconds and a 6-second cooldown.
Who can equip it, and how should it be ranked?
This is a standard Sly Vulpaphyla mod with Penjaga polarity, zero base drain, and three ranks. Ranking improves both concealment duration and cooldown, so it is most useful to invest in if you can make use of the trigger during missions. It does not make the player continuously unseen.
How does it differ from Sly Devolution?
Sly Devolution addresses a different situation: the companion devolves when downed and recovers after 30 seconds, while your kills reduce enemy accuracy against Warframes by 20% for 8 seconds. Survival Instinct instead triggers on your Bullet Jump and briefly breaks enemy sight. Choose based on which condition and benefit you want.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Its brief effect depends on Bullet Jumping and is limited by a cooldown.
- It provides no stated benefit between triggers.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Treating the effect as permanent invisibility rather than a 1.5-second maximum window with a 5-second cooldown.
- Expecting it to trigger from movement other than Bullet Jumping.
