Understand Speed Trigger
Useful when…
- Increase firing cadence on a compatible rifle.
- Apply a larger fire-rate bonus to a bow, for which the listed bonus is doubled.
Effect and fit
Speed Trigger is an Uncommon Madurai mod for rifles. It fits a standard slot, has base drain 4, and reaches rank 5. Its bonus rises from 10% at rank 0 to 60% at rank 5; bows receive twice the listed bonus. It cannot be equipped with Flawed Speed Trigger.
Practical impact
Fire rate changes how quickly the weapon fires; the listed bonus does not describe a per-shot damage increase. This can suit weapons whose firing cadence is important, while the higher bow multiplier makes the mod particularly potent for bow fire rate. Aerial Ace is an Exilus mod that refreshes double jumps after kills while airborne, and Agile Aim is a Conclave Exilus mod for movement speed while aiming; they have different effects and do not replace this fire-rate bonus.
Rank investment and alternatives
The mod ranks to 5. Listed costs include 20 Endo and 966 credits for the first step, 80 Endo and 3,864 credits for the step to rank 3, and 320 Endo and 15,456 credits for the final step. The bonus rises to 40% at rank 3 and 60% at rank 5, so the final ranks cost more for the remaining increase. Flawed Speed Trigger has base drain 2 and caps at 20% (twice that for bows), making it a lower-drain but lower-ceiling option. The two Speed Trigger variants are incompatible.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- A base drain of 4 and five-rank investment buy a higher maximum bonus than the flawed variant.
- Fire rate does not directly raise the damage of each individual shot.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Do not equip it alongside Flawed Speed Trigger; they are incompatible.
- Do not apply the rifle bonus to bows without doubling it, or assume fire rate is per-shot damage.
