Understand Stand Ground
Useful when…
- Use it in a melee setup when blocking enemy abilities is a useful defensive response.
- Consider ranking it for greater reduction when the Endo and Credit cost is justified.
When does damage reduction apply?
Stand Ground is a Conclave melee mod. Its effect applies while blocking and specifically reduces damage taken from enemy abilities: 10% at rank 0, 40% at rank 3, and 60% at rank 5. The condition matters; the description does not grant the same reduction when not blocking or against every damage source.
What does ranking cost?
Ranks run from 0 to 5. Example costs rise from 30 Endo and 1,449 Credits for 0→1, to 120 Endo and 5,796 Credits for 2→3, and 480 Endo and 23,184 Credits for 4→5. Higher ranks increase the reduction while blocking, at progressively higher fusion cost.
How does it differ from other blocking mods?
Mortal Conduct has a low-health condition and reflects damage while blocking attacks and channeling. Guardian Derision taunts nearby enemies while blocking and adds combo count chance. Shattering Impact reduces enemy armor through Impact damage. Those effects have different conditions and goals; they are not the same as Stand Ground's reduction against enemy abilities while blocking.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The defensive bonus requires blocking and is limited to damage from enemy abilities.
- Ranking uses an increasingly large amount of Endo and Credits.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Expecting protection while not blocking.
- Applying the reduction to all incoming damage instead of the stated enemy ability damage.
