Stunning Speed

Pistol reload and status chance mod

Released Jul 13, 2013

Stunning Speed combines faster reloads with increased status chance for pistols. Consider it when your pistol benefits from both more frequent firing after reloads and added status chance, especially if a single standard mod slot needs to cover both properties.

Understand Stunning Speed

Useful when…

  • Use on a pistol that reloads often and can make use of increased status chance.
  • Consider it when the two bonuses are more useful together than a specialized single-stat mod in the same slot.

What does it add?

At maximum rank, Stunning Speed provides +40% Reload Speed and +30% Status Chance. At rank 0, the bonuses are +10% and +7.5%. The status increase is a mod bonus and does not state a final proc rate for a particular pistol; reload speed also does not specify a fixed reload-time reduction.

When to slot it

This is a standard pistol mod with Naramon polarity, base drain 6, and maximum rank 3. It is relevant to weapons where reload downtime and status application both matter. Pistol Elementalist offers status damage and reload speed, Carnis Stinger offers Slash and status chance, and Embedded Catalyzer grants status chance only after an ability cast and while aiming. These have different effects or conditions, so compare them against the weapon's actual needs.

Rank cost and value

The mod reaches rank 3. Rank-up steps cost 30, 60, and 120 Endo, plus 1,449, 2,898, and 5,796 Credits. The listed bonuses rise together at each rank, so the investment is most efficient when both reload speed and status chance benefit your pistol. Base drain is 6; the input does not specify exact drain at each rank.

Limits and common mistakes

It is a pistol mod and should not be treated as a universal weapon mod. Its +30% Status Chance is not the same effect as +90% Status Damage, and Embedded Catalyzer's bonus is conditional on ability casting and aiming. Account for the particular weapon and conditions before comparing listed percentages.

Limitations and tradeoffs

  • Base drain 6 is relatively high for the stated dual benefit.
  • The full bonus requires rank investment and matters most when both stats are useful.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Treating increased Status Chance as Status Damage or as a guaranteed final proc rate.
  • Ignoring the weapon's reload behavior and the mod's base drain 6.
