Targeting Subsystem GUIDE

Understand Targeting Subsystem

Useful when…

  • Improving pistol accuracy while aiming after landing a hit
  • Using a pistol Exilus slot for a conditional accuracy effect

Trigger and effect

On hit, the mod grants accuracy while aiming for a limited time. At rank 0 it grants 5% for 2 seconds; rank 3 grants 20% for 6 seconds; maximum rank 5 grants 30% for 9 seconds.

Slot and fit

Targeting Subsystem is a Pistol Exilus mod with Madurai polarity, base drain 2, and maximum rank 5. Its benefit is conditional on hitting and aiming, so it is most relevant when both match how you use the pistol.

Rank and alternative effects

The rank 4-to-5 step costs 320 Endo and 15,456 Credits for the maximum 30% accuracy and 9-second duration. Embedded Catalyzer instead grants status chance after an ability cast while aiming. Hydraulic Crosshairs grants critical chance after a weak-point hit, while Galvanized Crosshairs has weak-point hit and kill conditions and can stack. Those are different effects and triggers, not direct accuracy replacements.

Limitations and tradeoffs

  • The accuracy bonus requires both a hit trigger and aiming to benefit from it.
  • The effect expires after its listed duration; higher ranks extend the duration and improve the bonus.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Expecting the bonus to activate without first hitting a target.
  • Treating the accuracy bonus as a status chance or critical chance increase.
