Understand Tectonic Fracture
Useful when…
- Creating multiple Tectonics walls
- Using Tectonics for its wall form rather than converting walls into boulders
Wall effect and restriction
The augment allows up to 3 walls and prevents those walls from being turned into boulders. At rank 0, the cap is 2 walls with 70% Health; at rank 2 it is 3 walls with 90% Health; rank 3 reaches 3 walls with 100% Health.
When it fits
Consider Tectonic Fracture when you want to place multiple walls and accept losing the ability to turn them into boulders. The supplied effect establishes the wall count and relative Health, but does not specify additional wall mechanics or duration.
Rank and slot cost
This is a standard Atlas augment with Zenurik polarity, base drain 6, and maximum rank 3. The rank 2-to-3 step costs 120 Endo and 5,796 Credits for the increase from 90% to 100% wall Health; the maximum count remains 3 from rank 2 onward.
Other Atlas augment roles
Titanic Rumbler changes Rumblers to one stronger Rumbler with a reactivation slam. Rumbled is a Conclave variant that turns Atlas into a Rumbler and grants Overguard. Ore Gaze adds Codex scanning and a chance for additional loot from Petrified enemies. Those focus on Rumblers or Petrify rather than Tectonics walls.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Walls cannot be turned into boulders while the augment is used.
- The mod takes a standard slot and has base drain 6.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Expecting to convert the augmented walls into boulders.
- Assuming rank 3 increases the wall cap beyond 3; rank 2 already lists that cap.
