Understand Transistor Shield
Useful when…
- Allow allies to pick up Electric Shield.
- Add a portion of absorbed damage to Volt’s Static Discharge.
What changes when equipped?
The augment lets allies pick up Electric Shield. At rank 0, 150% of damage absorbed is added to Volt’s Static Discharge; this rises to 250% at rank 2 and 300% at rank 3. This percentage describes the augment’s contribution to Static Discharge, not a general damage increase for every attack.
When is it useful?
Consider it when allied players benefit from picking up Electric Shield and the Static Discharge interaction suits your use of Volt. Capacitance is a different augment: it converts 3% of Discharge damage into Shields split between Volt and squadmates. Recharge Barrier is listed as a Conclave variant and restores shields to allies who pass through Electric Shield, so do not confuse that mode-specific entry with this standard augment.
Fit and investment
Transistor Shield is a rare standard Volt mod with zenurik polarity, base drain 6, and maximum rank 3. Listed fusion costs are 30 Endo and 1,449 Credits for rank 0 to 1, 60 and 2,898 for rank 1 to 2, and 120 and 5,796 for rank 2 to 3. It is explicitly incompatible with Recharge Barrier, so do not plan to equip both together.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Consumes a standard mod slot and has base drain 6.
- Cannot be equipped alongside Recharge Barrier.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Do not read the absorbed-damage percentage as a universal weapon damage bonus.
- Do not try to equip Recharge Barrier alongside it; the mod lists that augment as incompatible.
