Understand Void Cloak
Useful when…
- Use the concealment window to give the Railjack a temporary break from enemy attention.
- Choose it when its engine-speed penalty is manageable for the situation.
Effect and timing
Void Cloak is equipped in the Railjack Tactical Slot 3. At rank 0 it cloaks the ship for 10 seconds and reduces Engine Speed by 5%; rank 3 gives 25 seconds with a 20% reduction; rank 5 gives 35 seconds with a 30% reduction. Its cooldown is 120 seconds at each listed rank.
Rank investment
The mod has five ranks, universal polarity, and base drain 0. Ranking extends the cloak but also increases the listed engine-speed reduction. The example 4→5 step costs 160 Endo and 7,728 Credits. Choose a rank with a useful concealment duration and acceptable speed penalty; max rank is not automatically the best fit.
Tactical slot alternatives
Other listed Slot 3 choices serve different purposes: Flow Burn grants 38% Speed and Boost Speed for 13 seconds with a 240-second cooldown; Battle Forge reduces Forge Cooldown by 100 seconds and has a 480-second cooldown; Squad Renew heals all Railjack squad members by 75% and has a 300-second cooldown. These effects do not reproduce Void Cloak’s concealment, so choose according to the tactical need.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Cloaking reduces Engine Speed, with a larger reduction at higher ranks.
- The ability has a 120-second cooldown.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming the cloak has no movement cost; Engine Speed is reduced while its effect is active.
- Ignoring the 120-second cooldown when planning to use it repeatedly.
