Understand Waveband Disruptor
Useful when…
- Add a chance for Railjack turret critical hits to ignore enemy shields.
- Pair conceptually with a turret critical-chance focus, while remembering that the mod’s effect applies only to critical hits.
Effect and trigger
At maximum rank, Waveband Disruptor grants a 51% chance for turret critical hits to ignore enemy shields. Rank 0 gives 8.5%, and rank 3 gives 34%. Both a turret critical hit and a successful bypass roll are required for the described effect; the mod does not state that all turret shots ignore shields.
Slot and ranking
It is a standard Plexus mod with Madurai polarity, base drain 4, and maximum rank 5. The listed steps cost 20, 80, and 320 Endo and 966, 3,864, and 15,456 Credits for the shown rank increases. Ranking increases the bypass chance, but the benefit still depends on turret critical hits occurring.
Related Plexus effects
Scourging Warheads gives ordnance a chance to ignore shields, so it applies to ordnance rather than turret critical hits. Predator increases Turret Critical Chance and may support the trigger condition, but it does not itself bypass shields. Crimson Fugue grants turret damage after enemies are destroyed, a separate conditional damage effect. These are distinct Plexus effects, not automatic substitutes.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Consumes a Plexus slot for a chance-based effect requiring turret critical hits.
- Does not give the same shield bypass effect to ordnance.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Do not interpret the listed chance as applying to every turret hit; it is conditional on a critical hit.
- Do not confuse turret bypass with Scourging Warheads’ ordnance bypass.
