Understand Flawed Whirlwind
Useful when…
- Use on a compatible thrown melee weapon when projectile speed is the desired handling change.
- Treat it as a limited-rank option; it cannot be equipped with Whirlwind.
Effect and compatibility
At maximum rank, Flawed Whirlwind grants +120% Projectile Speed. It is a standard-slot Flawed mod for thrown melee, with Madurai polarity and base drain 4. It explicitly excludes Whirlwind, so the two cannot be equipped together.
Rank investment
The mod has three ranks: +30% projectile speed at rank 0, +90% at rank 2, and +120% at rank 3. The final listed step from rank 2 to 3 costs 120 Endo and 5,796 Credits. The standard Whirlwind candidate reaches +180% at rank 5 and is identified as incompatible; it is an alternative to compare, not an additional mod to stack with this one.
Other thrown-melee options
Combo Fury is described as granting a temporary reload-speed and magazine-capacity increase to the secondary weapon after a melee kill. Combo Killer adds combo duration and resets the melee combo timer on a secondary-weapon kill. Neither provides projectile speed, so they address different effects.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Its maximum projectile-speed bonus is lower than the listed standard Whirlwind bonus.
- It cannot be equipped at the same time as Whirlwind.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Trying to equip Flawed Whirlwind together with Whirlwind.
- Assuming it improves damage; its listed effect is projectile speed.
