The defense slot boosts elemental and damage-type resistances; armor set buffs can provide specific resistances or trigger reflect effects.
How it works
The crafting page says the defense slot increases elemental and damage-type resistances. It also says complementary buffs on armor sets can grant specific resistances for some boss encounters or trigger reflect effects against enemies trying to hit the wearer. It gives no reflect value or named boss example.
