Understand A Day Carved From Rising Winds
Useful when…
- Building ATK for a character who uses Normal Attacks, Charged Attacks, Elemental Skills, or Elemental Bursts to hit opponents.
- Supporting an on-field or off-field character, since the 4-piece effect can trigger while its wearer is off-field.
- Using the 4-piece CRIT Rate upgrade when the wearer has completed Witch's Homework.
What do the set bonuses do?
Two pieces grant 18% ATK. With four pieces, a Normal Attack, Charged Attack, Elemental Skill, or Elemental Burst that hits an opponent grants Blessing of Pastoral Winds for 6 seconds, increasing the wearer's ATK by 25%. If the wearer has completed Witch's Homework, the effect becomes Resolve of Pastoral Winds and additionally gives the wearer 20% CRIT Rate. The hit can trigger the effect while the wearer is off-field.
When is it useful?
The 2-piece bonus is a straightforward ATK increase. The 4-piece effect suits a wearer who can hit opponents with any of its four listed attack types and make practical use of an ATK increase. Because the trigger works off-field, the wearer does not have to be the active character when the qualifying hit lands. The CRIT Rate addition is conditional: it applies only after the equipping character has completed Witch's Homework.
How does it compare with other sets?
These alternatives reward different conditions. Celestial Gift gives 20% Energy Recharge from two pieces; its four-piece team Elemental DMG Bonus requires the wearer to have completed Witch's Homework and use an Elemental Skill, with a separate Hexerei: Secret Rite condition for its upgraded effect. Finale of the Deep Galleries offers Cryo DMG Bonus from two pieces and large Normal Attack or Elemental Burst bonuses only while the wearer has 0 Elemental Energy, with one attack type's bonus pausing after the other type deals damage. Song of Days Past instead requires healing to build a recorded amount that later boosts party-member hits. Those conditions make each set a situational alternative rather than a direct replacement for this set's hit-triggered ATK bonus.
What should players watch for?
Do not assume the 20% CRIT Rate is included without completing Witch's Homework. The 4-piece ATK effect requires a listed attack to hit an opponent; simply using an attack without a hit does not meet the stated trigger. Its duration is 6 seconds, so the bonus is not a permanent 25% ATK increase.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The 4-piece bonus depends on landing a qualifying hit and lasts 6 seconds.
- The additional 20% CRIT Rate is gated by completion of Witch's Homework.
- A two-piece arrangement provides only the 18% ATK bonus; the hit-triggered effect requires four pieces.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Expecting the CRIT Rate upgrade without completing Witch's Homework.
- Counting an attack use as a trigger when it did not hit an opponent.
- Treating the 6-second 4-piece ATK effect as a permanent stat increase.
