Understand The Exile
Useful when…
- Supporting party members who benefit from more Energy for their Elemental Bursts.
- Equipping a character who can use their Burst to trigger the four-piece effect and does not need that effect's Energy restoration for themselves.
- Using the two-piece Energy Recharge bonus to support the wearer's Energy needs.
Set bonuses
Two pieces grant the wearer 20% Energy Recharge. With four pieces, using an Elemental Burst starts an effect that regenerates 2 Energy for each other party member at two-second intervals during six seconds. The wearer receives none, and the effect cannot stack.
When it can help
Consider the four-piece bonus when other party members benefit from more frequent Bursts and the wearer can use their own Burst to trigger the effect. The two-piece Energy Recharge bonus can also help the wearer with Energy needs, but the four-piece restoration excludes them.
How it compares with other sets
Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City has different conditions and supports Elemental DMG: its four-piece effect grants a 12% Elemental DMG Bonus for 15 seconds after the wearer triggers a reaction related to their Elemental Type. If the wearer is in Nightsoul's Blessing when triggering the effect, the set grants an additional 28% Elemental DMG Bonus for 20 seconds; this is added to, not a replacement for, the 12% bonus. Silken Moon's Serenade and Celestial Gift also grant 20% Energy Recharge with two pieces, while their four-piece effects provide different support under their own conditions. These sets offer different benefits, so their suitability depends on which effects the wearer can trigger and the party needs.
What to keep in mind
The four-piece effect does not restore Energy to the wearer and cannot stack. Its team Energy restoration is triggered by the wearer's Elemental Burst and occurs at two-second intervals over six seconds, rather than as one immediate refund.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The four-piece effect restores Energy to other party members, not the wearer.
- The effect cannot stack and requires the wearer to use an Elemental Burst.
- The set bonuses provide Energy support rather than a stated personal damage or Elemental DMG bonus.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Expecting the wearer to receive the four-piece Energy restoration.
- Assuming multiple Burst activations stack the effect.
- Treating the six-second restoration as one immediate refund rather than Energy granted at two-second intervals.
