Gaming

On-field Pyro plunge damage dealer

Released Jan 31, 2024

Gaming’s Skill lets him leap and immediately perform Charmed Cloudstrider, a Pyro Plunging Attack that consumes HP. His Burst heals him, summons Man Chai, and can reset the Skill when they reunite; consider him when you want a plunge-centered Pyro play pattern.

Understand Gaming

Useful when…

  • Repeatedly using Bestial Ascent followed immediately by a Plunging Attack.
  • Using the Burst’s healing and Man Chai reunion to support another Skill use.
  • Taking advantage of his daytime movement-speed passive in open-world exploration.

Skill plunge and HP cost

Bestial Ascent pounces forward and launches Gaming into the air after he contacts a target or surface. If he immediately uses a Plunging Attack, it becomes Charmed Cloudstrider: its damage is converted to Pyro and cannot be overridden by another elemental infusion. It counts as Plunging Attack damage. On landing, Gaming loses 15% of Max HP, but this method cannot reduce his HP below 10%. The Skill’s listed cooldown is 6 seconds. This creates a specific timing requirement: the plunge must follow the leap immediately to receive the special attack.

Burst, healing, and Skill resets

Suanni’s Gilded Dance costs 60 Energy and lasts 12 seconds. It briefly applies Pyro to Gaming, restores 30% of his Max HP, and summons Man Chai to strike an area. After the strike, Man Chai rolls away and then returns toward Gaming; when they link up, Man Chai leaves and Bestial Ascent’s cooldown resets. During Wushou Stance, interruption resistance increases. Landing a Charmed Cloudstrider or completing Bestial Ascent’s forward pounce with more than 50% HP summons Man Chai again. Only one Man Chai can be present, and leaving the field ends the Burst’s effects.

Passives and talent investment

Air of Prosperity changes with Gaming’s health: below 50% HP he receives 20% Incoming Healing Bonus; at 50% HP or higher, Charmed Cloudstrider deals 20% more damage. Dance of Amity restores 1.5% Max HP once every 0.2 seconds for 0.8 seconds after a Charmed Cloudstrider hits an opponent. The Skill and Burst are the most directly connected talent tracks to the plunge and reset/healing sequence; Normal Attack leveling applies to his ordinary claymore attacks. Ascension and talent upgrades cost Mora and materials, and the listed final talent step includes a Crown of Insight and two Lightless Mass.

Limitations and comparisons

The Skill consumes HP on each special landing, while the listed threshold passive favors being at or above 50% HP for more plunge damage; his Burst recovery and hit-triggered passive can help offset losses. Burst-driven Skill resets depend on Man Chai returning, and its effects stop if Gaming leaves the field. The Striding Beast gives 10% movement speed from 06:00 to 18:00, but does not work in Domains, Trounce Domains, or Spiral Abyss and does not stack. Dehya, Mavuika, and Arlecchino share Pyro, but the listed facts do not establish that they use Gaming’s Skill-triggered plunge mechanic.

Limitations and tradeoffs

  • Each Charmed Cloudstrider landing consumes 15% Max HP, subject to a 10% floor.
  • The special plunge requires using a Plunging Attack immediately after the Skill leap.
  • Burst cooldown resets depend on Man Chai returning to Gaming.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Waiting after Bestial Ascent before plunging and missing Charmed Cloudstrider.
  • Ignoring the Skill’s HP cost when planning repeated landings.
  • Expecting the Burst’s Skill reset before Man Chai reunites with Gaming.

Bestial Ascent · Elemental skill

Pounces forward using the Wushou arts, leaping high into the air after coming into contact with a target or surface.
After Gaming has used Bestial Ascent to rise into the air, if he immediately uses a Plunging Attack, he will use the especially powerful Plunging Attack: Charmed Cloudstrider instead.

Plunging Attack: Charmed Cloudstrider
The DMG from Plunging Attacks caused by Bestial Ascent is converted to Pyro DMG that cannot be overridden by other elemental infusions. Upon landing, Gaming will consume a fixed amount of HP. Gaming's HP cannot be reduced below 10% by this method.
Charmed Cloudstrider DMG is considered Plunging Attack DMG.

Purchased talent coefficients at level 1 and 1. These are individual skill values; they do not represent total build damage.

Suanni's Gilded Dance · Elemental burst

Gaming enters Wushou Stance, briefly applying Pyro to him, recovering a fixed amount of HP, and summons his companion, the Suanni Man Chai, to smash into his target, dealing AoE Pyro DMG.
After bashing its target, Man Chai will roll to a nearby location before moving towards Gaming. When it links up with Gaming, Man Chai will leave the field and reset the CD for Gaming's Elemental Skill, Bestial Ascent.
While Wushou Stance is active, his resistance to interruption is increased, and when Gaming lands with Charmed Cloudstrider attack or completes the forward pounce attack from Bestial Ascent with over 50% HP, he will summon Man Chai again.
Each Gaming can only have 1 Man Chai on the field simultaneously.
This effect will be canceled once Gaming leaves the field.
