Understand Kaveh
Useful when…
- Detonating nearby Dendro Cores with Artistic Ingenuity or Painted Dome.
- Using Dendro-infused, larger-area attacks during his burst.
- Increasing damage from party-created Bloom and Lunar-Bloom cores during his burst.
- Recovering Kaveh’s HP when Dendro Core damage hits him.
How do the skill and burst work?
Artistic Ingenuity performs a radial scan that deals AoE Dendro damage and immediately bursts all Dendro Cores in its area. Painted Dome also deals AoE Dendro damage and bursts cores in its area. During its 12-second duration, the burst increases the AoE of Kaveh’s Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attacks and converts their damage to Dendro in a way that cannot be overridden. It also increases damage from Dendro Cores created by all party members through Bloom and Lunar-Bloom, and increases Kaveh’s resistance to interruption. These effects end when he leaves the field. The supplied burst values list an 80 Energy cost and 20-second cooldown.
How do his passives interact with cores?
An Architect’s Undertaking restores Kaveh’s HP when damage from a Dendro Core hits him. This includes damage from Burgeon and Hyperbloom; the restored amount is 300% of his Elemental Mastery, and the effect can trigger once every 0.5 seconds. This is a personal recovery effect, not party-wide healing. During Painted Dome, hits from Kaveh’s Normal, Charged, or Plunging Attacks increase his Elemental Mastery by 25 per trigger, up to four stacks; the effect can trigger every 0.1 seconds and ends with the burst.
What should receive talent investment?
His burst track governs the field’s damage and Dendro Core burst damage bonus; consider it when the party makes frequent use of cores during Kaveh’s on-field window. The skill track improves the radial scan’s damage, while the normal-attack track improves his listed claymore attack sequence. Ascension proceeds through six stages, with the supplied examples listing Nagadus Emerald, Mourning Flower, fungal materials, and Quelled Creepers. The example upgrade from talent level 9 to 10 costs 700,000 Mora, materials, a weekly talent item, and a Crown of Insight; consider that cost against which part of his kit your party uses.
What limits should you plan around?
His core detonation affects Dendro Cores in the skill or burst area; it is not described as affecting cores elsewhere. The burst’s field effects are canceled when Kaveh leaves the field, so swapping out ends the attack conversion and core damage bonus. Core damage can restore Kaveh’s HP only if it hits him, and the healing has a half-second trigger interval. Lauma, Nefer, and Alhaitham are listed Dendro candidates, but their comparison details do not establish that they detonate cores or provide Kaveh’s burst effects.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The burst requires 80 Energy and has a 20-second cooldown for a 12-second duration.
- His burst’s combat benefits end when he leaves the field.
- Core-based HP recovery requires core damage to hit Kaveh.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Leaving the field during Painted Dome and expecting its effects to continue.
- Expecting core detonation outside the skill or burst area.
- Treating core-triggered healing as party-wide healing.
