Neuvillette

Hydro catalyst whose charged attack becomes a sustained, straight-line torrent after absorbing Sourcewater Droplets. Consider Neuvillette when you want a main damage source based on Max HP and can manage his charged-attack setup and HP drain.

Released Sep 27, 2023

Neuvillette creates droplets with his skill and burst, then absorbs them while charging to form Equitable Judgment faster and restore his HP. His passive rewards triggering different Hydro-related reactions, and his burst attack is strongest when those reaction stacks are built.

Neuvillette GUIDE

Understand Neuvillette

Useful when…

  • Use his skill and burst to produce droplets that accelerate charged-attack setup and restore HP.
  • Attack groups or aligned enemies with Equitable Judgment’s continuous straight-line area damage.
  • Build reaction variety into the party to gain Past Draconic Glories stacks.

How does Equitable Judgment work?

While charging Legal Evaluation, Neuvillette can move, change facing, and absorb Sourcewater Droplets within an area. Each droplet speeds formation of the seal and restores 16% of his Max HP at the listed level-one values. If the seal is formed, releasing the charge unleashes Equitable Judgment: a continuous Hydro torrent in a straight-line area for three seconds, without stamina cost. If his HP is above 50%, the attack drains HP continuously at the listed rate of 8% Max HP every half-second. If charging stops before the seal forms, he instead uses a regular charged attack, which costs 50 stamina. His ordinary normal attacks are a separate three-hit Hydro sequence.

How do you generate droplets and improve the torrent?

O Tears, I Shall Repay deals area Hydro damage based on Max HP and generates three Sourcewater Droplets near an opponent it hits; droplets last 15 seconds at the listed level-one values. O Tides, I Have Returned deals area damage, then calls down two smaller waterfalls and generates six droplets in front of Neuvillette. The burst costs 70 Energy at the listed level-one values. His passive grants a Past Draconic Glories stack when a party member triggers one of the listed reactions on an opponent: Vaporize, Frozen, Electro-Charged, Lunar-Charged, Bloom, Lunar-Bloom, Hydro Swirl, Hydro Crystallize, or Lunar-Crystallize. Each reaction type’s stacks exist independently, last 30 seconds, and up to three stacks increase Equitable Judgment to 110%, 125%, or 160% of its original damage. His current HP above 30% also grants Hydro damage bonus, capped at 30%.

What should you prioritize?

The normal attack talent governs Equitable Judgment, so it is the direct talent priority when the torrent is his main damage source. Skill and burst are useful for their Max HP-based damage and, especially, for the droplets that prepare charged attacks; invest in them according to how often you use them. Ascension uses Lumitoile and Fontemer Unihorn at the listed stages. Talent examples use Equity books and Transoceanic materials; the level 9-to-10 example uses Everamber and a Crown of Insight. His underwater sprint passive increases party underwater sprint speed by 15%, but does not stack with a passive that provides the exact same effect.

What can interrupt the plan?

Droplets have a 15-second duration at the listed level-one values, so delaying after creating them can waste the setup. His torrent only hits in a straight-line area in front of him, making facing and enemy alignment relevant. The HP drain applies while using Equitable Judgment if his HP is above 50%; droplets help restore HP but do not remove the need to account for that condition. The comparison entries identify other Hydro characters but give no details about their attacks or roles, so they do not establish a direct replacement for this charged-attack mechanic.

Limitations and tradeoffs

  • His signature charged attack needs droplet setup to form quickly and drains HP above the stated threshold.
  • The beam’s straight-line area rewards deliberate facing and positioning.
  • Reaction-stack bonuses depend on triggering distinct listed reaction types and expire after 30 seconds.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Releasing before the seal forms and expecting Equitable Judgment instead of a regular charged attack.
  • Letting generated droplets expire before absorbing them.
  • Treating three stacks as three triggers of the same reaction type; each reaction type’s stacks are tracked independently.

Normal Attack
With light flourishes, Neuvillette commands the tides to unleash a maximum of 3 attacks, dealing Hydro DMG.

Charged Attack Empowerment: Legal Evaluation
While charging up, Neuvillette will gather the power of water, forming it into a Seal of Arbitration. In this state, Neuvillette can move and change facing, and also absorb any Sourcewater Droplets in a certain AoE.
Every Droplet he absorbs will increase the formation speed of the Seal, and will heal Neuvillette.
When the charging is stopped, if the Symbol has yet to be formed, then a Charged Attack will be unleashed. If it has been formed, then a Charged Attack: Equitable Judgment will be unleashed.

Charged Attack
Consumes a fixed amount of Stamina to attack opponents with a rupturing blast of water, dealing AoE Hydro DMG.

Charged Attack: Equitable Judgment
Unleashes surging torrents, dealing continuous AoE Hydro DMG to all opponents in a straight-line area in front of him.
Equitable Judgment will not consume any Stamina and lasts 3s.
If Neuvillette's HP is above 50%, he will continuously lose HP while using this attack.

Plunging Attack
Gathering the might of Hydro, Neuvillette plunges towards the ground from mid-air, damaging all opponents in his path. Deals AoE Hydro DMG upon impact with the ground.
