Genshin Impact · Character

Razor

Electro claymore fighter who uses a long on-field burst stance with faster normal attacks and a companion strike. Consider Razor when you want a straightforward field-time damage window and can manage his high burst energy cost.

Released Sep 28, 2020

Razor's skill either grants Electro Sigils and Energy Recharge or consumes those Sigils for energy. His burst clears them for energy and summons the Wolf Within, which supports his normal attacks, increases attack speed and interruption resistance, and disables charged attacks during the stance. The burst ends if he leaves the field.

Razor GUIDE

Understand Razor

Useful when…

  • Use press skill to gain Electro Sigils and Energy Recharge, or hold to consume stored Sigils for Energy.
  • Use his burst when he can remain active for the stance and make repeated normal attacks.
  • Use his sprinting stamina passive for exploration outside restricted domains and the Spiral Abyss.

Skill modes and Sigils

Claw and Thunder's press version strikes opponents in front and grants an Electro Sigil on a hit; he can hold up to three, and gaining a new one refreshes their duration. Each Sigil raises Energy Recharge by 20% and lasts 18 seconds. Holding the skill deals a larger hit in a small area and clears all Sigils, converting each into five Energy for Razor. Press has a six-second cooldown and hold has a ten-second cooldown. This makes the choice conditional: retain Sigils for Energy Recharge, or cash them in for immediate Energy.

Burst stance and field time

Lightning Fang deals nearby Electro damage, clears all Electro Sigils into Energy, and summons the Wolf Within for 15 seconds. The wolf strikes alongside Razor's normal attacks, increases his attack speed and Electro resistance, and increases interruption resistance. It also makes him immune to damage from Electro-Charged status, but disables his charged attacks. The burst costs 80 Energy and has a 20-second cooldown. Leaving the battlefield ends the effects; on leaving, Razor receives at most 10 Energy based on remaining duration. During the burst, Awakening reduces the skill cooldown by 18%, and using the burst resets that cooldown.

Handling and upgrades

Razor's normal string has four strikes. His charged attack spins continuously, consuming 40 Stamina per second for up to five seconds before a stronger final slash; this option is unavailable while the Wolf Within is active. For a burst-centered build, consider burst levels and normal-attack levels because the companion strikes alongside his normal attacks. Skill levels improve the press and hold hits. Ascension supports general progression. When his Energy is below 50%, Hunger increases his Energy Recharge by 30%, which can help when he is short of a burst.

Limits and alternatives

Razor needs field time to benefit from the Wolf Within; switching out ends the stance. The stance disables charged attacks, so do not plan around his spinning charged attack during it. Razor's passive reduces party sprint stamina use by 20%, but does not stack with an identical passive.

Limitations and tradeoffs

  • His 80-Energy burst is tied to a field-time window and ends when he leaves the field.
  • The burst disables charged attacks, removing the spinning attack option during its duration.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Using hold skill for energy while forgetting it consumes every stored Electro Sigil.
  • Switching out during Lightning Fang and ending the companion effect.
  • Attempting charged attacks during the burst, when they are disabled.
