Sethos GUIDE
Understand Sethos
Useful when…
- Use fully charged Shadowpiercing Shots to hit enemies along a line, while accounting for the stationary charge.
- Use his Burst for an eight-second window of piercing Dusk Bolts while Sethos remains on field.
- Use his passive to locate nearby Sumeru-exclusive resources on the mini-map.
Attacks and modes
A Charge Level 2 aimed shot becomes a Shadowpiercing Shot that deals Electro damage to enemies along its path. Sethos cannot move after it is fully charged. His Burst costs 60 Energy and lasts eight seconds, converting Normal Attacks into piercing Electro Dusk Bolts whose damage increases based on Elemental Mastery. Dusk Bolts count as Charged Attack damage; Sethos cannot use aimed shots during the stance, and leaving the field ends it. The Skill deals AoE Electro damage and quickly retreats. If the Skill triggers Electro-Charged, Lunar-Charged, Superconduct, Stellar-Conduct, Overloaded, Quicken, Aggravate, Hyperbloom, or Electro Swirl, Sethos recovers Energy.
Passives and charged-shot timing
Black Kite's Enigma reduces aimed-shot charging time based on Sethos's current Elemental Energy, counting up to 20 Energy and reducing the charge time to a minimum of 0.3 seconds. Firing a Shadowpiercing Shot consumes the counted Energy; a Charge Level 1 shot consumes half that amount. The Sand King's Boon increases Shadowpiercing Shot damage by 700% of Sethos's Elemental Mastery. Its Scorching Sandshade effect ends five seconds after an affected Shadowpiercing Shot first hits an opponent, or after four affected shots hit opponents. It returns 15 seconds after an affected Shadowpiercing Shot first hits an opponent. Thoth's Revelation shows nearby Sumeru-exclusive resources on the mini-map.
Talent investment and materials
For an aimed-shot approach, raising the Normal Attack talent is a practical priority because it covers the bow's charged attacks. For a Burst approach, raising the Burst is a practical priority because Dusk Bolts are its stance attacks. The Skill is another option to invest in for its AoE hit and conditional Energy recovery; the supplied descriptions do not establish a damage ranking among these talents. Ascension examples list Trishiraite and Cloudseam Scale. Talent upgrade examples use Praxis books and red-satin materials; the listed level 9-to-10 step costs 700,000 Mora, 16 Philosophies of Praxis, 12 Rich Red Brocade, two Daka's Bells, and a Crown of Insight.
Limitations
A fully charged Shadowpiercing Shot leaves Sethos unable to move, and Enigma consumes Energy when he fires charged shots. During Twilight Meditation he cannot aim, and switching him off field ends the stance. The Skill's Energy recovery depends on it triggering one of the listed reactions.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Shadowpiercing Shots pierce enemies but require a stationary full charge and consume Energy.
- Dusk Bolts pierce during a short Burst stance, which prevents aimed shots and ends if Sethos leaves the field.
- Elemental Mastery contributes to the stated Shadowpiercing Shot and Dusk Bolt damage effects; charged-shot Energy consumption can affect Energy available for the Burst.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Expecting to move while a fully charged Shadowpiercing Shot is ready.
- Trying to aim during Twilight Meditation or switching Sethos off field during the Burst stance.
- Assuming the Skill restores Energy without one of its listed reactions.
- Ignoring the Energy consumed by charged shots.
Effects and reference details
Royal Reed Archery · Normal attack
Normal Attack
Performs up to 3 consecutive shots with a bow.
Charged Attack
Performs a more precise Aimed Shot with increased DMG.
While aiming, the power of Electro will accumulate on the arrowhead before the arrow is fired. Has different effects based on how long the energy has been charged:
·Charge Level 1: Fires off an arrow carrying the power of lightning that deals Electro DMG.
·Charge Level 2: Fires off a Shadowpiercing Shot which can pierce enemies, dealing Electro DMG to enemies along its path. After the Shadowpiercing Shot is fully charged, Sethos cannot move around.
Plunging Attack
Fires off a shower of arrows in mid-air before falling and striking the ground, dealing AoE DMG upon impact.

Ancient Rite: The Thundering Sands · Elemental skill
Gathers the might of thunder, dealing AoE Electro DMG and quickly retreating. If this attack triggers Electro-Charged, Lunar-Charged, Superconduct, Stellar-Conduct, Overloaded, Quicken, Aggravate, Hyperbloom, or Electro Swirl reactions, Sethos recovers a certain amount of Elemental Energy.

Secret Rite: Twilight Shadowpiercer · Elemental burst
Perform a secret rite, entering the "Twilight Meditation" state, during which Sethos's Normal Attacks will be converted into enemy-piercing Dusk Bolts: Deal Electro DMG to opponents in its path, with DMG increased based on Sethos's Elemental Mastery.
Sethos cannot perform Aimed Shots while in this state.
DMG dealt by Dusk Bolts is considered Charged Attack DMG.
This effect will be canceled when Sethos leaves the field.

Black Kite's Enigma
When Aiming, the charging time is decreased by 0.285s based on each point of Sethos's current Elemental Energy. Charging time can be reduced to a minimum of 0.3s through this method and a maximum of 20 Energy can be tallied. If a Shadowpiercing Shot is fired, consume the tallied amount of Elemental Energy; if it is a Charge Level 1 shot, then consume 50% of the tallied amount of Elemental Energy.
The Sand King's Boon
Sethos gains the "Scorching Sandshade" effect, increasing the DMG dealt by Shadowpiercing Shots by 700% of Sethos's Elemental Mastery.
The Scorching Sandshade effect will be canceled when any of the following conditions are met:
· 5s after a Shadowpiercing Shot first hits an opponent.
· After 4 Shadowpiercing Shots strike opponents.
When a Shadowpiercing Shot affected by Scorching Sandshade first hits an opponent, Sethos will regain Scorching Sandshade after 15s.
