Understand Venti
Useful when…
- Grouping opponents and dealing continuous Anemo damage with Wind’s Grand Ode.
- Launching enemies with Skyward Sonnet or creating an upcurrent with its held version.
- Restoring Energy after Burst and reducing party gliding stamina consumption.
What do his Skill and Burst do?
Skyward Sonnet’s press version creates a Wind Domain at an opponent’s location, dealing area Anemo damage and launching opponents. Holding it creates a larger domain centered on Venti, launches affected opponents, and lifts Venti into the air; the hit enemies fall slowly. His passive makes the held Skill create a 20-second upcurrent. Wind’s Grand Ode fires an arrow that creates a Stormeye, which pulls opponents in and deals continuous Anemo damage. If it contacts Hydro, Pyro, Cryo, or Electro, it adds damage of that element. Elemental Absorption can happen only once per Burst use. [Source](evidence)
When is Venti a practical choice?
Use him when the opponents you face can be pulled by the Stormeye; the described pull and slow fall provide control alongside damage. The Burst costs 60 Energy and lasts eight seconds. After its effects end, his Stormeye passive restores 15 Energy to Venti, plus 15 Energy to party members of the absorbed element if absorption occurred. That makes element contact relevant both to the Burst’s added elemental damage and to its specified party Energy return. His passive also reduces gliding stamina consumption by 20% for party members, but does not stack with another passive that provides the exact same effect. [Source](evidence)
Which upgrades make sense?
The Burst track raises Wind’s Grand Ode’s Anemo and additional elemental damage, making it central when you use the Stormeye. Skill levels improve its press and held hits; the Normal Attack track is a separate bow sequence and charged Anemo shot. Ascension uses Vayuda Turquoise, Cecilia, and Slime materials, with Hurricane Seed shown at later stages. A listed level 9-to-10 talent step costs 700,000 Mora, 16 Philosophies of Ballad, 12 Slime Concentrate, two Tail of Boreas, and a Crown of Insight. Invest in the talents used for your role rather than assuming all three contribute equally. [Source](evidence)
What are his constraints?
Burst absorption requires the Stormeye to contact an eligible element, and only one elemental absorption occurs per use. The held Skill’s upcurrent requires holding the Skill; the press version does not have that stated effect. Gliding stamina reduction is not additive with identical passive effects.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The Burst’s elemental damage and matching Energy return require contact with an eligible element.
- Held Skill creates an upcurrent but has a longer listed cooldown than press.
- Gliding stamina reduction does not stack with an identical passive effect.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming the Stormeye absorbs multiple elements in one use.
- Using press Skill while expecting the held version’s upcurrent.
- Counting duplicate gliding-stamina passives as cumulative.
