Understand Azurelight
Useful when…
- Sword users who can use an Elemental Skill and benefit from ATK during the following 12 seconds.
- Wielders whose Energy can reach 0 within that window to activate the extra ATK and CRIT DMG.
What are the Skill and Energy conditions?
At refinement 1, using an Elemental Skill increases ATK by 24% for a 12-second window. While that window is active, having 0 Energy grants a further 24% ATK and 40% CRIT DMG. The extra effects therefore require both a recent Skill use and exactly 0 Energy during the window. The base Skill-triggered ATK bonus does not list a zero-Energy requirement.
Who can use the extra effect?
The CRIT Rate secondary stat and Skill-window ATK support damage, while the zero-Energy clause can add more ATK and CRIT DMG when its condition is met. Consider whether the wielder’s Energy can be at 0 after using a Skill and whether that state is useful during the 12-second duration. The inputs do not specify a way to control Energy, so do not assume the extra effect will be active continuously or on demand.
What does investment improve?
At refinement 5, the Skill-window ATK increase is 48%; while the wielder has 0 Energy during that window, the additional ATK increase is 48% and CRIT DMG rises by 80%. Refinement examples require sacrificing another Azurelight and Mora. Ascension is separate, progressing from stage 0 to 6 with selected transition costs shown. Refinement increases the values but does not remove the 12-second or zero-Energy conditions.
What do the comparison swords offer?
Absolution provides CRIT DMG and a damage increase when the wielder’s Bond of Life value increases. Amenoma Kageuchi grants Succession Seeds after Skills and restores Energy after a Burst consumes them. Aquila Favonia increases ATK and has an HP-restoring area effect triggered by taking damage every 15 seconds. Their conditions differ: these weapons do not provide Azurelight’s Skill window or bonus tied to the wielder having 0 Energy.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The largest bonuses depend on the wielder having 0 Energy during a 12-second post-Skill window.
- Refinement raises values without changing the trigger or Energy condition.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming the extra ATK and CRIT DMG apply whenever the Skill-window bonus is active; the wielder must also have 0 Energy.
- Confusing the weapon’s 12-second Skill window with a permanent ATK increase.
