Understand Blackcliff Agate
Useful when…
- Consider it when the wielder benefits from CRIT DMG and the defeat-triggered ATK increase.
- Additional enemy defeats can add stacks up to the stated three-stack maximum.
What happens after a defeat?
At refinement 1, defeating an enemy increases ATK by 12% for 30 seconds. The effect can stack up to three times, and each stack has an independent duration. The trigger specified for the ATK increase is defeating an enemy.
How do refinements change the effect?
Refinements 2–5 increase the ATK bonus per stack to 15%, 18%, 21%, and 24%. The listed effect retains a maximum of three stacks and a 30-second duration for each stack.
What investment does it require?
Ascension progresses through stage 6; the listed examples show costs for stages 0→1, 3→4, and 5→6. Refinement progresses from 1 to 5, consuming one R1 sacrifice copy plus Mora at each listed step. Refinement raises the ATK bonus granted by each stack.
How do the listed catalyst alternatives differ?
A Thousand Floating Dreams has Elemental Mastery as its secondary stat and grants effects based on the elemental types of other party members, as well as an Elemental Mastery increase for nearby party members. Angelos' Heptades grants ATK and, after its wielder creates a shield, a timed damage increase for the active party member plus Energy restoration; its effect can also trigger when a chest is opened outside combat. Apprentice's Notes is a 1-star catalyst with no secondary stat or listed passive.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The ATK increase is triggered by defeating an enemy.
- Each stack has its own 30-second duration.
- Refinement requires duplicate copies to increase the ATK bonus per stack.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Expecting the ATK effect to trigger merely by hitting an enemy.
- Assuming stacks share a single timer or that the effect can exceed three stacks.
- Overlooking that refinements raise the per-stack ATK amount.
