Understand Blade of Atonement
Useful when…
- A claymore wielder who triggers Elemental Reactions often enough to use the 12-second Elemental Mastery bonus.
- A Stellar Glimmer setup where the wielder can also use the weapon's separate timed ATK increase.
- Off-field use where the wielder triggers one of the specified reactions.
What triggers each effect?
At R1, triggering an Elemental Reaction increases the wielder's Elemental Mastery by 64 for 12 seconds. Triggering a Stellar Glimmer reaction increases the wielder's ATK by 16% for 12 seconds. The effects have separate triggers, and the weapon states that they can activate while the wielder is off-field. Do not treat any reaction as a trigger for the Stellar Glimmer-specific ATK bonus.
Who can make practical use of it?
The weapon's 43.7 base ATK and ATK secondary stat provide an offensive foundation, while the reaction-triggered Elemental Mastery adds a reaction-focused benefit. The Stellar Glimmer clause adds ATK only when that named reaction is triggered. Its off-field activation makes it relevant to a wielder who triggers reactions without remaining active, but the input does not specify a trigger rate or uptime beyond each effect's 12-second duration.
How should you weigh ascension and refinement?
Ascension advances the weapon through six stages. Refinement consumes another Blade of Atonement copy and Mora; R1 to R5 increases the reaction-triggered Elemental Mastery from 64 to 128 and Stellar Glimmer ATK from 16% to 32%. Refinement improves both bonuses, but its value depends on whether the wielder triggers the relevant reactions. Ascension is the distinct weapon-level investment.
How do the listed alternatives differ?
Ultimate Overlord's Mega Magic Sword has Energy Recharge and grants ATK, with an additional amount tied to Merusea Village Melusines helped. A Teaspoon of Transcendence grants ATK and boosts Stellar-Conduct and Stellar Swirl reaction damage after Charged Attack hits. A Thousand Blazing Suns grants timed CRIT DMG and ATK after using a Skill or Burst, with stronger effects in Nightsoul's Blessing. Those effects depend on different conditions and do not duplicate Blade of Atonement's reaction-triggered Elemental Mastery and Stellar Glimmer ATK.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The Elemental Mastery and ATK bonuses have different reaction triggers.
- The Stellar Glimmer ATK bonus is specific to that reaction, even though the separate Elemental Mastery bonus responds to Elemental Reactions generally.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming any Elemental Reaction activates the Stellar Glimmer ATK effect.
- Ignoring the 12-second durations when assessing whether the triggered bonuses are active.
