Understand Earth Shaker
Useful when…
- Use it when the wielder deals meaningful Elemental Skill damage and the party can trigger Pyro-related reactions.
- Another party member can trigger the effect while the claymore wielder is off field.
Effect and trigger
At R1, after a party member triggers a Pyro-related reaction, the wielder gains 16% Elemental Skill DMG for 8 seconds. The bonus increases to 32% at R5. The triggering party member can be off field; the effect text does not require the wielder to trigger the reaction personally.
Practical fit
The weapon has ATK as its secondary stat, while its passive specifically boosts Elemental Skill damage. Its fit depends on whether the wielder's Skill contributes to damage and the party can trigger a Pyro-related reaction. The passive does not state a bonus to Normal Attacks, Charged Attacks, or Burst damage.
Ascension and refinement
Ascension advances the weapon through six stages, with costs listed for selected transitions. Refinement increases the Skill DMG bonus from 16% to 32%; the listed refinement steps require another copy of Earth Shaker. The effect duration remains 8 seconds in the supplied refinement descriptions.
Comparisons by effect
Ultimate Overlord's Mega Magic Sword has Energy Recharge as its secondary stat and increases ATK, including an additional increase based on Melusines helped in Merusea Village. A Teaspoon of Transcendence increases ATK and boosts Stellar-Conduct and Stellar Swirl reaction damage after Charged Attack hits. A Thousand Blazing Suns has CRIT Rate as its secondary stat and grants timed ATK and CRIT DMG effects after the wielder uses a Skill or Burst. These weapons have different effects and conditions from Earth Shaker.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The passive boosts Elemental Skill DMG only.
- A Pyro-related reaction must be triggered to start the 8-second bonus.
- Refinement consumes copies and does not change the stated duration.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming the wielder must personally trigger the Pyro-related reaction.
- Expecting the passive to increase Burst or Normal Attack damage.
- Assuming a refresh rule for the 8-second effect that is not specified.
