Understand Echoes of the Heart
Useful when…
- Consider it for a catalyst wielder who benefits from Elemental Mastery when Elemental Reactions are triggered.
- Its additional damage bonus applies when Stellar Glimmer is triggered, including while the wielder is off field.
Effect and conditions
At R1, triggering an Elemental Reaction increases the wielder's Elemental Mastery by 60 for 12 seconds. Triggering a Stellar Glimmer reaction increases Stellar Glimmer reaction DMG by 16% for 12 seconds. At R5, the values are 120 Elemental Mastery and 32% reaction DMG. The effects can trigger while the wielder is off field. The Stellar Glimmer effect applies specifically to that reaction.
Practical use
The Elemental Mastery effect is tied to triggering an Elemental Reaction; the additional damage effect specifically requires Stellar Glimmer. Its fit depends on the reactions triggered and whether Elemental Mastery contributes to the intended damage. The effect description does not specify a cooldown or stacking behavior for repeated triggers.
Ascension and refinement
Ascension advances the weapon through six stages, with costs listed for selected transitions. Refinement raises the Elemental Mastery increase from 60 to 120 and the Stellar Glimmer damage bonus from 16% to 32%. The listed refinement steps require another copy, and the stated durations remain 12 seconds.
Comparisons
A Thousand Floating Dreams grants its wielder Elemental Mastery or an Elemental DMG Bonus based on party members' Elemental Types, and also increases other nearby party members' Elemental Mastery. Angelos' Heptades grants effects after its wielder creates a shield, including a party DMG increase and Energy restoration. Apprentice's Notes has no secondary stat or listed passive. Their stated effects differ from Echoes of the Heart's reaction-triggered bonuses.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The Elemental Mastery bonus requires an Elemental Reaction to be triggered.
- The additional reaction damage applies only to Stellar Glimmer.
- Refinement uses copies to increase the values; it does not change the stated duration.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Treating the Stellar Glimmer bonus as a bonus to every reaction.
- Assuming a cooldown or stacking rule for repeated triggers when none is specified.
- Assuming the wielder must personally trigger the Elemental Reaction; the effect allows off-field activation and does not specify who triggers it.
