Understand Emerald Orb
Useful when…
- Use when a catalyst wielder triggers one of the listed reactions and benefits from ATK.
- Consider as a reaction-oriented option when a higher-rarity catalyst’s more specific effects are not needed.
Which reactions activate it?
At R1, causing Vaporize, Electro-Charged, Frozen, Bloom, Lunar-Charged, Lunar-Bloom, or a Hydro-infused Swirl increases ATK by 20% for 12 seconds. Refinement raises that value to 40% at R5; the duration stays 12 seconds. The condition is the listed reaction itself, so other reactions do not qualify based on the available effect description.
What role does its stat profile support?
The catalyst’s secondary stat is Elemental Mastery, complementing reaction use. The passive then supplies ATK, which is useful only to the extent the wielder’s damage scales with ATK. Check that the character can cause one of the specified reactions during combat; holding the weapon alone does not activate the bonus.
What investment makes sense?
Ascension improves the weapon’s stats and uses the listed stage materials. Refinement consumes another Emerald Orb and Mora, increasing the conditional ATK buff by five percentage points per rank. Since this is a three-star weapon, consider its role and the resources available before spending materials on maximum refinement; the effect still requires its listed reaction regardless of refinement.
How do the catalyst comparisons differ?
A Thousand Floating Dreams derives its wielder’s bonuses from the elemental types of other party members and also gives nearby party members EM. Angelos’ Heptades requires its wielder to create a shield for its damage buff and Energy restoration. Apprentice’s Notes has no secondary stat and no refinement effect listed. These have distinct conditions; none should be assumed to duplicate Emerald Orb’s reaction-triggered ATK effect.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Only seven named reaction cases activate the ATK increase.
- The passive grants ATK rather than a general damage bonus.
- Refinement consumes duplicate copies, and the bonus still depends on the reaction condition.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming any Elemental Reaction activates the passive; use one of the seven listed reactions.
- Confusing the ATK increase with a direct increase to reaction damage.
- Refining the weapon while overlooking whether the wielder can trigger its listed reactions consistently.
