Understand Everlasting Moonglow
Useful when…
- Use on a catalyst wielder who values HP and Healing Bonus and deals Normal Attack damage.
- Consider when the wielder can use Normal Attacks during the 12 seconds after a Burst to trigger Energy restoration.
What effects does it provide?
At R1, it increases Healing Bonus by 10% and increases Normal Attack damage by an amount equal to 1% of the wielder’s Max HP. For 12 seconds after using an Elemental Burst, Normal Attacks that hit opponents restore 0.6 Energy; this restoration can occur once every 0.1 seconds. Refinement raises Healing Bonus to 20% and the HP-based Normal Attack damage fraction to 3% at R5. The Energy restored per qualifying hit remains 0.6 across the listed ranks.
Which attack pattern activates the Energy effect?
The Energy restoration window begins after the wielder uses an Elemental Burst, and it requires Normal Attacks to hit opponents. It does not describe restoration from Charged Attacks or from merely using the Burst. The weapon’s HP secondary stat aligns with its Max HP-based Normal Attack bonus, while Healing Bonus supports a healing role.
How much should you invest?
Ascension uses the listed materials to improve weapon stats. Refinement consumes duplicate copies and Mora, increasing Healing Bonus and the HP fraction used for Normal Attack damage. Refinement does not increase the 0.6 Energy restored per hit in the provided ranks, so weigh duplicate cost against the specific healing and Normal Attack gains rather than expecting a larger energy return.
What do the other catalyst options do?
A Thousand Floating Dreams provides elemental-type-dependent bonuses and nearby party EM, supporting different stats and party needs. Angelos’ Heptades activates its damage and Energy support through shield creation. Apprentice’s Notes has no secondary stat listed. These alternatives have conditions distinct from Everlasting Moonglow’s HP-based Normal Attack bonus and Burst-following Normal Attack energy window.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The Energy return requires opponent-hitting Normal Attacks during a 12-second post-Burst window.
- The attack bonus applies to Normal Attacks and scales from Max HP; it is not described as a broad damage increase.
- Refinement does not raise the listed 0.6 Energy restoration per hit.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming the HP-based damage bonus applies to all attack types; it specifies Normal Attack damage.
- Expecting Energy restoration from Charged Attacks or without hitting opponents after a Burst.
- Refining for a higher Energy return, which remains 0.6 per qualifying hit in the listed ranks.
