Understand Exaiphanes Blade
Useful when…
- Equip specifically on the Traveler to use its Traveler-only passive.
- Consider if the Traveler’s elemental resonance history and hit-trigger condition support the intended damage and Energy needs.
What does the Traveler receive?
At R1, when the Traveler equips the weapon, hitting an opponent grants 16% ATK for eight seconds and restores three Energy; it can trigger once every five seconds, even off-field. At R2 and higher, the effect also gives CRIT DMG equal to 6% for every element the Traveler has resonated with. The ATK and Energy portion improves by rank: at R5 it grants 40% ATK for eight seconds and restores five Energy per trigger. The weapon has CRIT Rate as its secondary stat.
How does the trigger affect use?
The wielder must be the Traveler for these effects. The trigger requires an attack to hit an opponent; the five-second interval limits repeat activations. At higher refinements, the CRIT DMG component depends on how many elements the Traveler has resonated with, so the value is tied to that progression condition. The description does not state that other sword users can receive the Traveler-specific bonuses.
What should be upgraded?
Ascension costs in the supplied progression steps list Mora only, while refinement consumes another copy and Mora. Refinement improves the ATK and Energy on-hit effect and, from R2, provides the resonance-count-based CRIT DMG effect. Because refinement requires duplicate copies, treat it as an investment for a Traveler who will use this weapon; the CRIT DMG addition begins at R2 rather than R1.
How do the sword comparisons differ?
Absolution grants CRIT DMG and rewards increases to Bond of Life value with a damage bonus. Amenoma Kageuchi creates seeds after Skill use and returns Energy after the wielder uses a Burst. Aquila Favonia provides ATK and Physical DMG Bonus, with a damage and HP restoration effect triggered by taking damage. None of these descriptions shares Exaiphanes Blade’s Traveler-only, hit-triggered effect.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The main passive is specifically for the Traveler.
- The R2-and-higher CRIT DMG bonus depends on how many elements the Traveler has resonated with.
- Refinement requires duplicate copies; the CRIT DMG effect is absent at R1.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Equipping it on another character and expecting the Traveler-specific passive.
- Reading the CRIT DMG effect as present at R1; it appears in the R2 description and higher.
- Ignoring the once-every-five-seconds trigger interval when estimating how often the hit effect can activate.
