Understand Fruitful Hook
Useful when…
- Use on a claymore wielder whose combat pattern includes Plunging Attacks.
- Consider if the character can land a plunge and follow it with Normal, Charged, or Plunging Attacks inside the 10-second window.
How does the plunge condition work?
At R1, Plunging Attack CRIT Rate increases by 16%. After a Plunging Attack hits an opponent, the wielder gains 16% Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attack damage for 10 seconds. Refinement raises both values to 32% at R5. A plunge that does not hit an opponent does not satisfy the written trigger condition.
What attack modes benefit?
The passive explicitly names Plunging Attacks for the CRIT Rate bonus and Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attacks for the temporary damage bonus. It does not name Skill or Burst damage. Since the temporary bonus begins only after a plunge hit, plan its use around a character who can produce that trigger rather than treating it as always-on claymore damage.
How should you invest?
Ascension raises the weapon’s stats and uses the listed materials. Refinement consumes duplicate Fruitful Hooks and Mora; each rank increases both bonuses by four percentage points. That investment directly strengthens the plunge-focused effect, but has less value if the wielder rarely plunges. Consider whether the weapon’s condition fits the attack pattern before spending copies.
How do the claymore comparisons differ?
Ultimate Overlord’s Mega Magic Sword gives ATK and additional ATK based on Merusea Village Melusines helped. A Teaspoon of Transcendence provides ATK and buffs Stellar-Conduct and Stellar Swirl reaction damage after Charged Attack hits. A Thousand Blazing Suns activates its ATK and CRIT DMG effect through Skill or Burst use and has additional Nightsoul’s Blessing conditions. Their triggers and affected damage types differ from Fruitful Hook’s plunge-hit window.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The main attack damage buff requires a Plunging Attack to hit an opponent.
- The passive names Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attack damage; it does not state a Skill or Burst bonus.
- Refinement uses duplicate copies for incremental improvement.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming the Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attack bonus is active before a plunge hits.
- Applying the passive to Skill or Burst damage, which the effect does not name.
- Treating the Plunging Attack CRIT Rate as a general CRIT Rate increase for all attacks.
