CRIT Rate claymore that rewards Normal Attacks, Skill casts, and Charged Attack starts with short-lived damage stacks and fixed ATK SPD. Consider it for an on-field wielder that can cycle those actions; its extra CRIT DMG requires the party’s Hexerei: Secret Rite effect.
Released Feb 25, 2026
Gest of the Mighty Wolf combines a CRIT Rate secondary stat with 10% ATK SPD and Four Winds’ Hymn stacks. Normal Attack hits grant one stack, Skill casts grant two, and beginning a Charged Attack grants two; each stack increases damage for four seconds, up to four stacks. When the party has Hexerei: Secret Rite, each stack also grants CRIT DMG. Its value depends on the wielder’s action pattern and, for the additional CRIT DMG, the party condition.
Use on a claymore wielder that frequently lands Normal Attacks and uses Skills or Charged Attacks to build stacks.
Consider when the party has Hexerei: Secret Rite to activate the additional per-stack CRIT DMG.
How are Four Winds’ Hymn stacks gained?
The weapon always increases ATK SPD by 10%. At R1, Normal Attack hits grant one stack; casting an Elemental Skill grants two; beginning a Charged Attack grants two. Each stack increases damage by 7.5% for four seconds, with up to four stacks. The effect can trigger once every 0.01 seconds. If the party has Hexerei: Secret Rite, each stack also increases the wielder’s CRIT DMG by 7.5%. At R5, both per-stack values are 15.5%; the 10% ATK SPD remains constant.
What handling pattern does it reward?
The trigger counts Normal Attack hits, a Skill cast, and the start of a Charged Attack, so varied on-field actions can build stacks quickly. Each stack lasts only four seconds, making continued triggering relevant to maintaining them. The Hexerei: Secret Rite effect is a separate party condition for the extra CRIT DMG; without it, the base damage stacks and ATK SPD still apply, but that CRIT DMG clause does not.
How should it be improved?
Ascension uses the listed materials to improve the weapon’s stats. Refinement requires a duplicate and Mora, increasing the damage and conditional CRIT DMG per stack by two percentage points per rank. The fixed 10% ATK SPD and stack rules do not change in the listed refinements. Consider refinement when the wielder can build stacks and, if relevant, the party can meet the Secret Rite condition.
How do other claymores differ?
Ultimate Overlord’s Mega Magic Sword provides ATK tied partly to Merusea Village support. A Teaspoon of Transcendence raises ATK and specifically buffs Stellar-Conduct and Stellar Swirl damage after Charged Attack hits. A Thousand Blazing Suns triggers a temporary ATK and CRIT DMG effect through Skill or Burst use, with added Nightsoul’s Blessing behavior. These conditions differ from Gest’s short-duration stacks gained through multiple attack actions.
Limitations and tradeoffs
Four-second stack duration rewards ongoing triggers and can be hard to maintain when action stops.
The extra per-stack CRIT DMG requires Hexerei: Secret Rite in the party.
Refinement does not improve its fixed 10% ATK SPD.
Common mistakes to avoid
Treating the Hexerei: Secret Rite CRIT DMG as unconditional.
Assuming the ATK SPD increases with refinement; it remains 10% in all listed ranks.
Ignoring the four-second duration when relying on stacks after pausing attacks.
