Key of Khaj-Nisut

HP sword that converts Skill hits into personal and party Elemental Mastery.

Released Oct 14, 2022

Key of Khaj-Nisut is a five-star Sword with HP as its secondary stat. It increases HP and turns Elemental Skill hits into personal Elemental Mastery; reaching three stacks grants nearby party members EM based on the wielder’s Max HP. Consider it for a sword user who benefits from HP, can land repeated Skill hits, and can make use of the party EM share.

Understand Key of Khaj-Nisut

Useful when…

  • A sword user whose build values HP and Elemental Mastery
  • A wielder with an Elemental Skill that can hit opponents repeatedly
  • Party support through the three-stack EM share

How does Grand Hymn build?

At Refinement 1, the weapon increases HP by 20%. When an Elemental Skill hits opponents, the wielder gains Grand Hymn for 20 seconds, adding EM equal to 0.12% of the wielder’s Max HP per stack. It can trigger once every 0.3 seconds and stacks up to three times. When the third stack is gained, or its duration is refreshed, nearby party members receive EM equal to 0.2% of the wielder’s Max HP for 20 seconds. At Refinement 5, the HP increase is 40%, personal EM conversion is 0.24% per stack, and the party share is 0.4% of Max HP.

Who can use its HP scaling?

The personal and party EM effects are calculated from the equipping character’s Max HP, so HP investment increases those contributions. The Skill must hit opponents, and the party share requires reaching the third stack. Absolution instead offers CRIT DMG and a damage increase when Bond of Life value increases; Amenoma Kageuchi uses Skills to build seeds that restore Energy after a Burst. Those weapons do not reproduce Key’s HP-based party EM effect and serve different needs.

How should you invest?

Ascension improves base stats, including the weapon’s HP secondary stat. Refinement raises the HP increase and both EM conversion rates, but consumes another copy. Because those effects scale from Max HP and Skill hits, refinement is most useful when the wielder can build HP and trigger the passive reliably. The supplied upgrade examples list ascension costs at stages 0–1, 3–4, and 5–6.

What can interrupt the plan?

A Skill that does not hit an opponent does not satisfy the stated trigger. The party share is conditional on reaching three stacks; do not assume the first hit grants it. The personal EM stacks last 20 seconds, while the party share also lasts 20 seconds, so neither should be treated as permanent without continued access to the required effect.

Limitations and tradeoffs

  • Its party EM share requires three Skill-hit stacks.
  • The EM conversion depends on the wielder’s Max HP.
  • Refinement requires another copy.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Counting party EM before the third stack is gained or refreshed.
  • Ignoring the Skill-hit requirement when estimating passive uptime.
  • Treating the 20-second effects as permanent without refreshing their conditions.
