Understand Makhaira Aquamarine
Useful when…
- Use when the wielder has Elemental Mastery to convert into ATK.
- Consider for a claymore support or damage build that can make use of the nearby party ATK bonus.
How the conversion works
Every ten seconds, the wielder gains bonus ATK equal to a percentage of their Elemental Mastery for 12 seconds. At refinement 1 the conversion is 24%; at refinement 5 it is 48%. Nearby party members gain 30% of the wielder's resulting buff for the same duration. The passive can trigger while the wielder is off-field, and multiple copies can allow the buff to stack.
Who benefits
The weapon is most coherent when the equipped character already values Elemental Mastery and can use ATK, while teammates can also benefit from an ATK increase. Ultimate Overlord's Mega Magic Sword offers Energy Recharge and ATK bonuses, including a portion based on help given to Merusea Village Melusines. A Teaspoon of Transcendence is aimed at Charged Attack hits and named Stellar reaction damage; A Thousand Blazing Suns rewards Skill or Burst use and has a Nightsoul's Blessing condition. They do not provide Makhaira's Elemental Mastery-to-ATK party conversion.
Refinement and ascension
Ascension spans six stages, with selected Mora and material costs shown for example transitions. Refinement consumes a duplicate copy and Mora; it increases the conversion percentage from 24% to 48%. Because the shared portion remains 30% of the wielder's buff, refining raises the party buff by increasing its source amount. Consider that gain against the value of keeping another copy.
Common mistakes
The weapon does not grant a fixed ATK amount: the wielder's Elemental Mastery determines the source buff. Do not mistake the nearby party members' 30% share for 30% of their own Elemental Mastery. The effect is described as bonus ATK derived from the wielder's Elemental Mastery.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Its ATK output depends on the wielder's Elemental Mastery.
- The party share is only 30% of the wielder's buff.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Reading the conversion as a fixed ATK bonus independent of Elemental Mastery.
- Applying the wielder's full buff amount to nearby party members.
