Mistsplitter Reforged

Elemental damage sword for a character who can maintain Mistsplitter’s Emblem stacks.

Released Jul 21, 2021

Mistsplitter Reforged is a five-star sword with CRIT DMG as its secondary stat. It gives a broad Elemental DMG Bonus, then adds more damage for the wielder’s element as Emblem stacks are gained. Consider it for an elemental damage dealer whose attacks and Burst can meet those stack conditions.

Understand Mistsplitter Reforged

Useful when…

  • Boosting elemental attacks across multiple damage types.
  • Building around elemental Normal Attacks, Burst use, and keeping Energy below full.

What the Emblem does

At R1, the weapon grants 12% Elemental DMG Bonus for all elements. Emblem stacks add 8%, 16%, or 28% Elemental DMG Bonus for the wielder’s element, depending on stack count. A Normal Attack that deals Elemental DMG grants a stack for 5 seconds; casting the Elemental Burst grants one for 10 seconds; and having less than full Energy grants one that disappears when Energy is full. Stack durations are tracked independently. The weapon also has a CRIT DMG secondary stat.

When its conditions fit

It is most convenient for a wielder who deals elemental Normal Attack damage and uses a Burst while Energy is below full, since those actions can supply the listed stack conditions. A character whose damage is mostly Physical, or whose use rarely meets the stack triggers, will make less use of the weapon’s element-specific bonus. The broad all-element bonus remains separate from the Emblem stacks.

Ascension and refinement

Weapon ascension runs through stage 6 and raises the weapon’s level progression. Refinement consumes another copy and improves both the all-element bonus and the Emblem’s stack values: at R5 these become 24% and 16%/32%/56%, respectively. Since refinement requires duplicate copies, prioritize it only if improving this weapon is worth committing those copies; otherwise, ascension is the direct investment in the weapon itself.

How it differs from other swords

Absolution’s listed effect centers on CRIT DMG and damage gained when Bond of Life increases, so its condition is different. Amenoma Kageuchi instead grants Energy after consuming Skill-generated seeds with a Burst. Aquila Favonia offers ATK, Physical DMG Bonus as its secondary stat, and an on-damage heal and hit. These alternatives suit different mechanics; their presence does not make them automatic replacements for an elemental damage sword.

Limitations and tradeoffs

  • Its strongest element-specific gains depend on meeting multiple distinct stack conditions.
  • Refinement requires a duplicate copy for each example step.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Assuming a Normal Attack grants a stack when it deals no Elemental DMG.
  • Expecting the Energy-based stack to remain after Energy becomes full.
