Understand Moonweaver's Dawn
Useful when…
- A sword user whose damage is concentrated in Elemental Burst attacks.
- A Burst-focused character with Energy Capacity at or below the stated 60 or 40 thresholds.
Burst bonus and thresholds
At R1, Elemental Burst DMG increases by 20%. If the equipping character’s Energy Capacity does not exceed 60, the Burst gains an additional 16%; at or below 40, the additional increase is 28%. These are threshold conditions on Energy Capacity, not a statement about the character’s current Energy. Higher refinements increase the base Burst bonus to 40% at R5 and the additional bonus to 32% or 56% for the respective thresholds.
Practical fit
Check the character’s Energy Capacity before valuing the threshold bonuses. A Burst user above the listed thresholds still receives the weapon’s base Burst DMG increase, but not the specified extra amount. The ATK secondary stat supports an ATK-oriented profile, while the passive applies specifically to Burst DMG.
Ascension and duplicate cost
Weapon ascension progresses through stage 6. Refinement requires another copy and increases the base Burst bonus and each threshold bonus. Since the weapon’s defining extra value depends on a fixed character attribute, assess that fit before investing duplicate copies; ascension is the separate weapon-level progression.
How other swords differ
Absolution’s listed condition is increasing Bond of Life, Amenoma Kageuchi generates seeds from Skill casts and restores Energy after a Burst, and Aquila Favonia has a Physical DMG Bonus secondary stat with an ATK increase and a damage-triggered heal and area hit. These mechanics answer different needs; none duplicates Moonweaver’s Energy Capacity thresholds.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The additional Burst DMG depends on Energy Capacity thresholds, which differ by character.
- The passive’s direct damage bonus applies to Elemental Bursts rather than all attack types.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Confusing Energy Capacity with the character’s current Energy level.
- Applying the threshold bonus to Skill or Normal Attack damage.
