Understand Portable Power Saw
Useful when…
- Use a healing trigger to build up to three Stoic’s Symbols before casting a Skill or Burst.
- Consider for a wielder who values both Elemental Mastery and the delayed Energy return per symbol.
Symbols and Roused effect
At Rank 1, when the wielder is healed or heals another character, they gain a Stoic’s Symbol lasting 30 seconds, up to three. Symbols can be gained while the wielder is off field. Using the wielder’s Elemental Skill or Burst consumes all symbols and grants the Roused effect for 10 seconds. For every symbol consumed, the wielder gains 40 Elemental Mastery, then 2 Energy is restored per symbol two seconds after the effect occurs. Roused can trigger once every 15 seconds. The weapon has 41.0671 base ATK and an HP secondary stat.
Using it in combat
Its value depends on both parts of the sequence: a healing event must first grant symbols, and a Skill or Burst must then consume them. Up to three symbols increase the listed per-symbol benefits; using the ability before symbols are gained forfeits that stored contribution for that trigger. Because symbols can be gained off field, a wielder can accumulate them while another character is active, but the later Skill or Burst still has to be cast by the wielder.
Improvement priorities
Ascension progresses from stage 0 through 6, with supplied cost examples at stages 0→1, 3→4, and 5→6. Refinement raises the Elemental Mastery and Energy gained per consumed symbol: from 40 EM and 2 Energy at Rank 1 to 80 EM and 4 Energy at Rank 5. Refinement requires a duplicate copy for each step. Ascension is the ordinary weapon progression; consider refinement when the per-symbol return is useful enough to justify consuming copies.
Alternatives and limits
The effect does not grant symbols from simply dealing damage; healing the wielder or healing others is the stated trigger. The 15-second Roused limit also constrains how often symbols can be consumed for the effect. The Ultimate Overlord’s Mega Magic Sword instead provides ATK with a bonus tied to Merusea Village help, while the compared five-star claymores focus on particular reaction damage or timed Skill/Burst buffs. Their conditions differ, so they are not interchangeable healing-trigger options.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Requires healing events to build symbols before the wielder casts a Skill or Burst.
- Roused can trigger only once every 15 seconds.
- Refinement consumes duplicate copies.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Using the Skill or Burst before healing has generated symbols.
- Assuming the symbol-triggered effect can activate more often than once every 15 seconds.
- Counting symbols from ordinary hits rather than healing events.
